Sparrow¶
sparrow-joinstr is a fork of Sparrow Wallet with a joinstr coinjoin window. It works with any wallet and server that Sparrow supports.
| Latest version | 0.2.0, based on Sparrow 2.3.2 |
| Platforms | Linux (.deb, .tar.gz), Windows (.msi, .zip) |
| Transport | Tor only |
| aut-ct | Yes |
| Source | github.com/QcMrHyde/sparrow-joinstr |
Download and verify¶
Download the package for your system together with manifest.txt and manifest.txt.floppy.asc from the v0.2.0 release. The manifest is signed with the same key as the other joinstr releases.
gpg --keyserver hkps://keys.openpgp.org --recv-keys 9253062A4F92D63459085CA62D230520212A5901
gpg --verify manifest.txt.floppy.asc manifest.txt
sha256sum --check --ignore-missing manifest.txt
Use¶
- Open or create a wallet in Sparrow and connect to a server as usual.
- Open Tools > Coinjoin.
- Under Settings, set the nostr relay (default
wss://nos.lol) and, for aut-ct pools, the aut-ct API URL. - Use New pool to create a pool, or Other pools to join one. My Pools and History show your pools and finished coinjoins.
New pool asks for the denomination, number of peers, fee rate (defaults to the wallet's estimate) and timeout in minutes. For an aut-ct pool, also fill in aut-ct Keyset and optionally a Proving Key. Without a proving key, Sparrow uses a taproot coin from the wallet.
Behaviour¶
- Every joinstr request goes through Tor on a new circuit. If Tor is not running, the request is refused instead of being sent from your real IP address. A relay on
localhostis reached directly. - Pools that advertise the VPN transport are refused. Tor is the only transport this client supports.
- The client supports aut-ct sybil resistance. It also supports ring signature recovery when some peers do not sign.
